Regional Social Inclusion Forum

Senator Stephens attended a regional Social Inclusion Forum in Goulburn on 11 June at the Goulburn Workers Club.

Social Inclusion is about ensuring all Australians have the opportunity and capacity to learn, work, engage and have a voice. More than 50 organisations from around the region attended the forum which focused on how local government, community groups, local business and individuals can work together to ensure that all people in their community have these opportunities.

The main guest speakers were Ms Kerry Graham, CEO of the Inspire Foundation and member of the Australian Social Inclusion Board and Mr Keith Waters CEO of Anglicare Goulburn and Canberra.

The Goulburn forum was one of a series being held around Australia which aim to build stronger and more inclusive local communities. The forum created a focal point for the diverse and vibrant community sector in and around Goulburn, enabling organisations to learn about social inclusion, share with others the work they are doing and collaborate on new projects that better serve local communities.

The forum was generously supported by Anglicare Canberra and Goulburn and hosted by the Goulburn Workers Club.
