The Future Jobs Summit has identified some important initiatives to help local firms get a fairer go in large infrastructure projects. The Prime Minister has announced a Prime Ministerial Taskforce, to ensure local suppliers are able to bid for government funded projects, and stronger measures will be required in Local Procurement Plans for companies wanting to access Australian tax concessions.
The Summit also considered future employment demands in the clean energy sector, aged and community services and value adding, technoly based industries.
