Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP)

Are you young, and just a bit adventurous? Have you thought about going on an exchange program overseas? Are you up for a couple of months in Indonesia this summer?

The Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII) is inviting applications from young Australians willing to represent Australia for two months in Indonesia during December 2012 to February 2013.

The program aims to provide wider opportunities for young people from Indonesia and Australia to appreciate the culture, development and way of life of each other’s country and to build groups of young and potentially influential people in both Australia and Indonesia who have knowledge and personal experience of the two countries and who develop close and enduring links with each other.

To be eligible for the AIYEP 2012/13, you need to be aged between 21 and 25 years at the time of departure to Indonesia and to be in good health. It helps if you speak Indonesian -  but that’s not essential as you’ll learn the language while you’re there. You can be a student or in the workforce. Participants will be chosen from applicants undertaking tertiary studies or employed in any one or more of the following areas: Agriculture, Arts, Music, Asian Studies, Economics, Business, International Relations, Education, Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Gender Studies, Journalism, Media, Information and Communications Technology, Law, Health, Politics, Sport, Tourism and Hospitality.
